World Press Photo – is an independent, non-profit organization. headquarters in Amsterdam. Founded in 1955, the organization of the competition in the field of photojournalism. The award ceremony takes place at Oude Kerk. After the competition from the photos of the winners they collect an exhibition that people from different countries of the world can attend. The organization’s goal is to support professional press photography internationally and to promote the free and unrestricted exchange of information.
